It was initially hard to imagine the spaces and the circulation around the building, as there are many posts and beams, there are also two voids. From looking at simply the floor plans, it was difficult to visualise where the doorways/entrances into the rooms were as there are no internal doors and there are gaps between the posts but some are not wide enough to walk through.
It is often easy to forget the size of the house and how small it actually is. Due to the open plan style, the house does not appear claustrophobic in the slightest. The model has helped us to relate to its actual size and layout as the photographs make certain aspects of House VI look spacious.
We still question and debate amongst ourselves along with many critics whether House VI is a piece of art or a functional building.
